If you want one answer: buy a full-coverage TPE liner kit first, because the floor is the only interior surface that is identical across every 2026 Model Y and the only one that gets measurably worse every week you leave it bare. Everything else on this page depends on which 2026 Model Y you actually bought, and that is the part the product listings will not sort out for you.
Calling this car the 2026 Model Y hides four interiors. The Standard, the Premium and the Performance share a body, and the six-seat Model Y L is a longer car with its own floor plan. Between the three five-seat trims, the roof, the console, the frunk lining and the rear screen all differ, and each of those four differences changes a purchase. A product page that says it fits a 2026 Tesla Model Y is telling you it was not cut for any one of them in particular.
What actually differs across the 2026 range
These are published equipment differences, not our observations. The screen is the one most likely to catch you out, because it is a build-date change rather than a trim change: from 5 June 2026 all US and Canadian Model Y builds moved to the 16-inch QHD display, so two cars of the same model year can take different protectors depending on the month they were made.
| What differs | Standard | Premium / Performance | Which purchase it decides |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roof | Glass panel with a fabric headliner fitted underneath | Laminated glass with IR-reflective coating, open to the cabin | Whether a roof sunshade does anything at all |
| Rear screen | None | 8-inch rear touchscreen | Whether you need a rear screen protector |
| Center console | Open, pass-through | Enclosed, with a sliding cover | Whether an enclosed-console organizer set is the right shape |
| Frunk lining | Fabric liner, no seal | Sealed waterproof rubber | How much a frunk organizer or liner is worth to you |
| Center display | 16-inch QHD on builds from 5 June 2026 | 16-inch QHD on builds from 5 June 2026 | 15.4-inch versus 16-inch screen protector |
How we chose
We have not fitted any of these parts to a car and this page never suggests otherwise. What we can check is the part of the decision that actually goes wrong, which is fitment. In order of weight:
- Does the listing name the 2025-2026 car specifically, rather than saying Model Y and leaving the generation to you?
- Does it name the trim or the build date where those matter - screen size, console shape, roof?
- Is the product in stock, checked on the day of writing?
- Are the material and the coverage published by the brand, so a claim on this page can be attributed rather than guessed?
- Does it fix a problem that exists on your trim? A roof shade for a car with a factory fabric headliner is the clearest example of a purchase that fails this test.

1. Buy first
3W full-coverage TPE liner kit
Floor coverage is the purchase every 2026 Model Y needs whatever the trim, because the carpet is the same across the range and it is the surface that takes every wet shoe. This kit is listed as full-coverage TPE for the 2025-2026 car, which is the fitment language you want: the footwell shape changed with the 2025 redesign, and a liner cut for a 2023 car will not follow it.
Best for: Juniper owners who want the densest TPE and the widest coverage
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)
What works
- The broadest single-kit coverage we found for the Juniper, seat backs included
- Came out ahead of both MAXpider and WeatherTech on fit in one independent Juniper comparison
What does not
- A newer name than WeatherTech or MAXpider, so there is less long-run evidence of how the material ages
- Seat-back pieces are a nice extra but are not as well finished as dedicated seat-back protectors
Manufacturer specifications
- TPE throughout, described by the manufacturer as a higher-density compound than entry-level sets
- Kit covers footwells, frunk, cargo floor, sub-trunk and seat backs
- Separate part numbers per Model Y generation
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

2. Best screen protector for a 2026 build
QHD 16-inch tempered glass with rear screen cover
From 5 June 2026 every US and Canadian Model Y ships with the 16-inch QHD display rather than the 15.4-inch panel, per BASENOR's build-change note, and a 15.4-inch protector will not cover it. This one is cut for the 16-inch panel and includes a cover for the 8-inch rear screen, which Premium and Performance have and the Standard does not.
Best for: 2026 Model Y Premium and Performance, where 15.4-inch parts do not fit
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat)
What works
- One of the few parts that explicitly addresses the 16-inch panel instead of pretending every Juniper is 15.4-inch
- Bundling the rear cover matches the trims that actually have a rear screen
What does not
- A newer, less-established brand than the Tesla specialists
- If you have an RWD or AWD Juniper this is the wrong part entirely
Manufacturer specifications
- Cut for the 16-inch 2560 x 1440 display fitted to Model Y Premium and Performance
- Includes an 8-inch rear screen cover
- 9H tempered glass; sold in single and two-pack listings
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

3. Best roof sunshade
JOWUA glass roof sunshade (Juniper 2025+)
The right purchase if your 2026 car has the uncovered laminated glass roof. If you bought the Standard, read the roof section below before buying anything for the roof at all - the glass is still there, but a fabric headliner is fitted underneath it from the factory, so a shade has nothing to cover.
Best for: Juniper owners who want a roof shade that folds away rather than living on the roof
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026)
What works
- Folds down small enough to live under a seat, so you can run it only in summer
- Mesh keeps the cabin from going fully dark, which is the usual complaint about solid panels
- Juniper-specific pattern — the refreshed roof structure is not the same shape as the legacy car
What does not
- Mesh will always block less heat than an opaque reflective panel
- Folding and refitting is a two-minute job, so it is not something you will do daily
Manufacturer specifications
- Double-sided high-density mesh fabric
- Folds for storage rather than retracting on a rail
- Sold in two fabric variants, the darker of which the manufacturer rates for greater heat reduction
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

4. Best console set for Premium and Performance
BASENOR 4-piece center console organizer set
The enclosed sliding-cover console on Premium and Performance is what this four-piece TPU set is cut for, and TPU is the material choice that keeps a console quiet rather than adding a new rattle. It is also the trim-sensitive pick on this page: the Standard console is an open pass-through design, so parts shaped for the enclosed console are the wrong shape for it.
Best for: Juniper and Highland owners reorganizing the whole console in one go
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)
What works
- TPU absorbs vibration where rigid ABS transmits it, which is the single biggest cause of console rattle
- The hidden armrest compartment is the piece that actually changes how you use the car day to day
- One set covers every surface in the console instead of leaving gaps between parts
What does not
- Four pieces means four opportunities for a slightly loose edge
- Soft TPU picks up marks more readily than a hard plastic tray
Manufacturer specifications
- Four pieces: console tray, armrest storage box, armrest hidden storage and a cup-holder insert mat
- TPU rather than ABS
- Listed for the 2025-2026 Model Y Juniper and 2024-2026 Model 3 Highland
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

5. Best frunk organizer
Yeslak front trunk organizer (Juniper)
A frunk organizer earns its place on any 2026 Model Y and earns it twice on a Standard, where the frunk is lined in fabric with no seal rather than sealed rubber. On that trim the organizer is doing two jobs: keeping the load upright, and keeping it off a surface that absorbs whatever leaks.
Best for: Juniper owners who want the frunk split into fixed sections
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026)
What works
- Clips in, so it does not slide around an empty frunk the way a loose bag does
- Rigid walls keep a charging cable from collapsing into the rest of the space
- Juniper-specific: the refreshed frunk is deeper and a legacy organizer does not match it
What does not
- Fixed sections mean you cannot carry one large awkward item
- Rigid plastic can knock audibly against the tub when the frunk is nearly empty
Manufacturer specifications
- Polypropylene construction, described by the manufacturer as waterproof
- Three-section layout that clips into the frunk tub
- Listed specifically for the 2026 Juniper frunk
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

The roof is the purchase most likely to be wasted
On the Premium and the Performance the roof is laminated glass with a silver IR-reflective coating and nothing between it and your head, so a folding or retractable shade does exactly what you expect: it blocks direct sun on the people underneath. On the Standard, Tesla fits a fabric headliner under the glass at the factory, and InsideEVs reported the reasoning - cabin climate efficiency rather than cost alone. The glass is still up there. You simply cannot see it, and a shade has nothing to cover.
That makes the roof shade the most trim-sensitive purchase in the 2026 range, and it is the one most often bought on the strength of a model name alone. If you have a Standard and you are still getting too much sun, the windshield is the surface worth covering instead - roof or windshield first sets out that trade-off properly.
The screen is a date, not a trim
A 2026 Model Y built in May can take a different screen protector from a 2026 Model Y built in July. BASENOR's note on the change is explicit that the 16-inch QHD panel and the black headliner went in across all US and Canadian configurations from 5 June 2026, as production changes with no retrofit path. So neither the model year on your paperwork nor the trim answers the question.
Measure the display corner to corner before ordering, or check it against screen sizes by generation, which lists what each car and build takes. If your car does have the 8-inch rear screen, a set covering both panels arrives in one box and saves a second fitment decision.
The console and the frunk are quieter differences that matter more than they look
An enclosed console with a sliding cover and an open pass-through console are not the same cavity, and a tray cut for one will sit proud or rattle in the other. If you have a Standard, treat console organizer listings with suspicion unless they name the open console, and prefer the simpler trays and cup-holder inserts, which depend far less on the exact cavity shape.
The frunk is the difference owners find out about the hard way. A sealed rubber frunk can be wiped out and drains; a fabric-lined frunk with no seal holds whatever spills into it. If your car is the Standard, an organizer with a rigid base is not a tidiness accessory, it is the thing keeping a leaking bag off absorbent material. The Model Y frunk organizer roundup has the full set of options.
Our call
For most 2026 Model Y owners the order is: liner kit, then a screen protector matched to your build date, then the roof shade if your roof is open glass, then the console set and the frunk organizer. That sequence spends the first money on the surface that degrades fastest and the second on the part that is most expensive to replace, and it leaves both trim-sensitive purchases until after you have identified your trim.
If you bought the Standard, the honest version is shorter: liner kit, 16-inch screen protector, frunk organizer, windshield shade. Skip the roof shade, and be careful with console sets. You are not missing out either - two of the four things a Premium owner is buying do not apply to your car at all.
Questions people actually ask
Does the 2026 Model Y have a 15.4-inch or a 16-inch screen?
It depends on the build date, not the trim. BASENOR's change note records the 16-inch QHD display becoming standard across all US and Canadian Model Y configurations from 5 June 2026, as a production change with no retrofit. A 2026 car built before that date can still have the 15.4-inch panel, so measure before ordering a protector.
Do I need a roof sunshade on a Model Y Standard?
No. The Standard's glass roof panel has a fabric headliner fitted underneath it from the factory, so there is no exposed glass over the cabin for a shade to cover. If heat is the problem, cover the windshield instead.
Will accessories for a 2023 Model Y fit a 2026 one?
Soft goods often will; molded parts usually will not. The 2025 redesign changed footwell shape, console layout and the roof aperture, so liners, console trays and roof shades need to be bought for the 2025-2026 car specifically.
Does the Model Y Standard have a rear screen?
No. The 8-inch rear touchscreen is on the Premium and the Performance. On a Standard there is nothing back there to protect, so a front-only protector is the correct purchase.
Is the Model Y L just a longer Model Y for accessory purposes?
No. The wheelbase, floor plan, cargo bay and roof aperture are all specific to it, so molded parts have to be tooled for the L. Only a small number have been, which makes soft goods the safer category for that car today.
