Model Y L (2026+, six-seat)

Model Y L Interior Protection: What Fits (2026)

Seat backs transfer across. Sills and anything third-row do not, because the body is longer and the doors are not the same.

Fitment: Model Y L (2026+, six-seat) · Full Model Y L fitment guide

Pale electric-car interior with the rear seats in frame

Interior protection splits cleanly on the Model Y L, and it is worth knowing which side of the line each part falls on. Anything that attaches to a front seat — seat-back covers, kick mats, under-seat vent covers — is attaching to hardware shared with the five-seat car, so it transfers. Anything that attaches to body trim — door sills, bumper and trunk guards — does not, because the body is longer, the rear doors are in different places, and there is a third-row aperture that does not exist on a Model Y.

1. The one part listed for it

Yeslak seat-back kick protector

Yeslak

The fitment claim on this part spans Model 3 and Model Y from 2017 through 2026 and later, and because it hangs on the rear face of a front seat rather than clipping into body trim, it transfers to a Model Y L. A part that fits everything fits nothing perfectly, and the pocket is shallow.

Best for: One part that covers every Model 3 and Model Y generation

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

What works

  • The broadest fitment claim in this group, which simplifies buying for a two-car household
  • Waterproof surface means spilled drinks wipe off rather than soak in

What does not

  • A part that fits everything fits nothing perfectly — expect a slightly generic outline
  • Pocket is shallow compared with the BASENOR equivalent

Manufacturer specifications

  • Waterproof, stain-resistant microfibre leather surface
  • Integrated storage pocket
  • Listed as fitting Model 3 and Model Y from 2017 through 2026 and later

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

2. Best bet for fuller coverage

BASENOR 3-piece rear seat-back cover

BASENOR

Full rear-face coverage from the five-seat range, which should transfer because the front seats themselves are shared. Confirm on the listing — no brand has published Model Y L seat fitment. Full coverage changes how the cabin looks from the back.

Best for: Families — the largest protected surface area available

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Overall8.9/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Covers the whole seat back rather than just the kick zone, which is what you want with toddlers
  • Three pieces means the center section is covered too, not just the two outer seats

What does not

  • Full coverage changes how the cabin looks from the back seat
  • More material to remove and clean than a small kick mat

Manufacturer specifications

  • Three pieces covering the full rear face of the front seats
  • Listed across Model Y, Model 3 and the Juniper
  • Wipe-clean surface

Under-seat air vent covers

TOPABYTE

The under-seat vents are a shared front-seat feature, so covers for a five-seat Model Y should fit. Fit the open-grille type, never a solid panel.

Best for: Stopping debris falling into the rear footwell vents

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Overall8.4/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Those vents collect coins, crumbs and small toys, and clearing them is genuinely awkward
  • No adhesive, so nothing is permanent
  • One of the cheapest protective parts on the car

What does not

  • Any cover restricts airflow to some degree — fit the open-grille type, not a solid panel
  • Easy to dislodge when vacuuming

Manufacturer specifications

  • Grille covers for the rear-facing vents beneath the front seats
  • Clip or friction fit with no adhesive
  • Listed across Model 3 and Model Y fitments

What is genuinely missing

  • Door sill protectors for the longer body and its rear door positions.
  • Any trunk-sill or rear-bumper guard shaped to the Model Y L's load aperture.
  • Third-row seat-back protection, which on a six-seat family car is the surface most likely to need it.
  • Protection for the gap between the second-row captain's chairs, which is a new wear point this body introduces.

The interim answer for sills

Clear paint protection film, cut by hand from a roll, is a legitimate interim solution for a sill or trunk lip with no molded part available. It is invisible, cheap, removable, and it protects against exactly the scraping that damages those edges. On a car this new it is a better answer than forcing a part shaped for a different body.

The Model Y L fitment page collects everything confirmed across all six categories, and seven-seat accessories covers the multi-row questions this car raises.

Questions people actually ask

Will five-seat Model Y seat-back protectors fit a Model Y L?

Front-seat parts should, because the front seats are shared. One part's published fitment spans 2017 through 2026 and later. Confirm on the listing.

Do Model Y door sills fit?

No. The body is longer and the rear doors are in different positions.

What can I do about the sills in the meantime?

Clear paint protection film cut from a roll. Invisible, cheap, removable, and it protects against the scraping that actually causes damage.

Is anything made for the third row?

Not currently. It is the clearest gap in the Model Y L aftermarket.
