Tesla's owner's manual advises against applying a screen protector to the touchscreen, citing unintended inputs, delayed or unresponsive touch behavior and electrostatic discharge, and states that resulting damage is not covered by the vehicle warranty. That applies to the Model Y L as much as to any other Tesla.

The useful news is that this is the one accessory category where the Model Y L is not an orphan. Unlike floor mats and roof shades, where its unique body means almost nothing fits, the Model Y L uses the same 16-inch 2560 x 1440 center display as the Juniper Premium and Performance, plus the same 8-inch rear screen. Parts cut for those trims fit this car.

1. Best match

QHD 16-inch tempered glass with rear screen cover

QHD

Cut for the 16-inch 2560 x 1440 panel the Model Y L uses, and it includes the 8-inch rear cover the car also has. A newer brand than the Tesla specialists, and the wrong part for any 15.4-inch car.

Best for: 2026 Model Y Premium and Performance, where 15.4-inch parts do not fit

Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat)

Overall8.2/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • One of the few parts that explicitly addresses the 16-inch panel instead of pretending every Juniper is 15.4-inch
  • Bundling the rear cover matches the trims that actually have a rear screen

What does not

  • A newer, less-established brand than the Tesla specialists
  • If you have an RWD or AWD Juniper this is the wrong part entirely

Manufacturer specifications

  • Cut for the 16-inch 2560 x 1440 display fitted to Model Y Premium and Performance
  • Includes an 8-inch rear screen cover
  • 9H tempered glass; sold in single and two-pack listings

2. Best if you want to confirm the size first

Yeslak tempered glass for 15.4-inch and 16-inch displays

Yeslak

One page with both sizes as variants, which makes the size decision explicit. You still need to know which display you have, and there is no alignment frame.

Best for: Owners who are not yet certain which display their car has

Overall8.1/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Selecting the size on one page is less error-prone than hunting for two separate listings
  • Yeslak's Tesla catalog is organized by generation throughout

What does not

  • You still have to know your display size — the variant picker cannot tell you
  • No alignment frame mentioned

Manufacturer specifications

  • One product page covering both the 15.4-inch and 16-inch displays as selectable variants
  • Tempered glass
  • Listed for the newer Model 3 and Model Y

Overall8.6/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Avoids Tesla's stated concerns entirely, because nothing is applied over the touch layer
  • Protects the corner the display is most often knocked against

What does not

  • Does nothing about scratches or glare on the glass itself
  • Sold as part of a bundle, so you may be buying two pieces you did not want

Manufacturer specifications

  • Frame that protects the display surround, not the touch surface
  • Part of a three-piece console accessory set
  • Listed as compatible with the 2026 Model Y Juniper

Why this category is easier for the Model Y L

A display is a display — it does not care about wheelbase, seat count or cargo floor shape. Everywhere else on this site the Model Y L needs bespoke tooling, which is why the floor mat and sunshade pages for it are short and honest about what is missing. Here, nothing is missing.

Confirm the size, not the model

Listings are written around the Model Y Premium and Performance because those are the volume cars with this display. A listing that does not mention the Model Y L is not necessarily the wrong part — check that it states the 16-inch size and the 2560 x 1440 resolution, which is what actually determines fit. The full table is in screen sizes by generation.

Questions people actually ask

What display does the Model Y L have?

A 16-inch center touchscreen at 2560 x 1440, plus an 8-inch rear screen — the same combination as the Model Y Juniper Premium and Performance.

Will a 15.4-inch protector fit?

No. It will leave bare glass along one edge and the aspect ratio is wrong.

Do I need a Model Y L-specific protector?

No, and that is unusual for this car. Any protector cut for the 16-inch 2560 x 1440 display fits.
