Fitment: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Full Model Y Juniper fitment guide

White Tesla Model Y parked in front of green foliage

The week after you collect a new Model Y is when you are most likely to buy accessories and least likely to know which ones you need. This page is a buying order built around one principle: buy the things that change your daily experience of the car first, and let the optional comfort items wait until you know whether you actually want them.

Week one: the two that matter most

A windshield sunshade and a console organizer set. Between them they cost less than a set of premium floor liners and they address the two things you will notice every day: how hot the cabin is when you get in, and how badly the console holds anything.

If you park outdoors, the windshield shade is not optional in any meaningful sense. The windshield is the largest piece of glass in the car, it faces the sun for most of the day, and nothing else shades it. Fifteen seconds to deploy, and the difference on a July afternoon is not subtle.

Buildings reflected in a parked car windshield in bright sun

1. Week one

JOWUA windshield sunshade

JOWUA

Cheapest accessory on this list and the one you notice most, every hot day. Cut to shape with a claimed 99% UV block. Parked use only, and it needs somewhere to live when you drive.

Best for: Anyone who parks outside — the highest-value shade you can buy

Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat) · Model Y (2020-2024) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023)

Overall9.0/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Solves the actual parked-heat problem — the windshield is the biggest single heat aperture in the car
  • Far cheaper than a roof shade and takes fifteen seconds to deploy
  • Cut to shape, so there is no gap at the corners where a universal shade leaves one

What does not

  • Only works while parked, unlike a roof shade which works while driving
  • Has to be stowed somewhere when you drive off

Manufacturer specifications

  • Black mesh fabric with a silver anti-light coating
  • Manufacturer claims up to 99% UV blocking
  • Cut to the specific windshield shape; listed for Juniper and Model Y L

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

2. Week one

BASENOR 4-piece center console organizer set

BASENOR

Fixes the part of the car you touch on every drive, with no adhesive and TPU that damps rattle rather than transmitting it. Four pieces means four edges to seat properly.

Best for: Juniper and Highland owners reorganizing the whole console in one go

Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Value9.0
Overall9.1/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • TPU absorbs vibration where rigid ABS transmits it, which is the single biggest cause of console rattle
  • The hidden armrest compartment is the piece that actually changes how you use the car day to day
  • One set covers every surface in the console instead of leaving gaps between parts

What does not

  • Four pieces means four opportunities for a slightly loose edge
  • Soft TPU picks up marks more readily than a hard plastic tray

Manufacturer specifications

  • Four pieces: console tray, armrest storage box, armrest hidden storage and a cup-holder insert mat
  • TPU rather than ABS
  • Listed for the 2025-2026 Model Y Juniper and 2024-2026 Model 3 Highland

3. Week two

3W full-coverage TPE liner kit

3W

Full-coverage TPE across footwells, frunk, cargo floor, sub-trunk and seat backs, and it beat 3D MAXpider and WeatherTech on fit in an independent Juniper comparison. The seat-back pieces are the weakest part.

Best for: Juniper owners who want the densest TPE and the widest coverage

Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Fit9.0
Coverage9.5
Material8.5
Cleanability8.5
Value8.5
Overall8.8/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • The broadest single-kit coverage we found for the Juniper, seat backs included
  • Came out ahead of both MAXpider and WeatherTech on fit in one independent Juniper comparison

What does not

  • A newer name than WeatherTech or MAXpider, so there is less long-run evidence of how the material ages
  • Seat-back pieces are a nice extra but are not as well finished as dedicated seat-back protectors

Manufacturer specifications

  • TPE throughout, described by the manufacturer as a higher-density compound than entry-level sets
  • Kit covers footwells, frunk, cargo floor, sub-trunk and seat backs
  • Separate part numbers per Model Y generation

4. Month one

Yeslak front trunk organizer (Juniper)

Yeslak

Clips into the Juniper tub, which is what stops it sliding around when the frunk is nearly empty. Fixed sections mean you cannot carry one large awkward item, and rigid plastic knocks when there is nothing in it.

Best for: Juniper owners who want the frunk split into fixed sections

Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026)

Fit9.0
Capacity8.5
Rigidity9.0
Access8.5
Value8.5
Overall8.7/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Clips in, so it does not slide around an empty frunk the way a loose bag does
  • Rigid walls keep a charging cable from collapsing into the rest of the space
  • Juniper-specific: the refreshed frunk is deeper and a legacy organizer does not match it

What does not

  • Fixed sections mean you cannot carry one large awkward item
  • Rigid plastic can knock audibly against the tub when the frunk is nearly empty

Manufacturer specifications

  • Polypropylene construction, described by the manufacturer as waterproof
  • Three-section layout that clips into the frunk tub
  • Listed specifically for the 2026 Juniper frunk

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

Week two: floor protection

All-weather liners are the right second purchase, not the first, because the factory carpeted mats are genuinely fine for a few weeks and the decision benefits from knowing your own conditions. If you have a dog, children, a muddy driveway or a salted winter ahead, buy them. If none of that applies, you may not need them at all.

On the Juniper specifically, the six-piece full-coverage kits are better value than premium footwell liners, because they include the frunk, the cargo floor and the sub-trunk well for less than two premium liners cost. Juniper floor mats has the full comparison.

Month one: storage, if you need it

The frunk and the cargo area are both large and undivided. Whether that bothers you depends entirely on what you carry. Wait a few weeks and see where things actually end up sliding around before you buy a solution to a problem you may not have.

What to wait on

  • A roof sunshade. It is a real comfort upgrade and an expensive one. Live with the glass roof for a summer month first — some owners find it never bothers them, and some find it unbearable by week two. Is a roof sunshade worth it covers the decision.
  • Door sill protectors. Worth it if you load the car heavily or you are returning a lease. Otherwise cosmetic, and adhesive trim is a one-way decision.
  • Seat-back protection — unless children ride in the back, in which case move it to week one, because the damage is permanent and it happens fast.

What most new owners buy and regret

  1. A screen protector. Tesla's own owner's manual advises against fitting one and excludes resulting damage from the warranty. Read the warranty guide before you order, and note that on the Juniper you must also know whether you have the 15.4-inch or 16-inch display.
  2. A rigid frunk box, bought before knowing how full the frunk usually is. A mostly-empty rigid box is the loudest thing in an electric car. A padded divider is the safer first choice.
  3. Mud flaps, in a climate that does not need them. Look at the rocker panel behind your front wheel after a wet week — if it is clean, flaps do nothing for you.
  4. An under-seat storage box, if you regularly carry adults in the back. It stops them sliding their feet under the front seat.

The fitment rule for everything

Your car is a Juniper, and a 2020-2024 Model Y part is a different part. Buy from listings that name a year range, treat a bare "Model Y" listing as a reason not to buy, and confirm your display size before anything touches the screen. The Juniper fitment page collects every category for this car in one place.

Questions people actually ask

What should I buy first for a new Model Y Juniper?

A windshield sunshade and a console organizer set. They cost little, they fit any Juniper, and they change how the car feels every day.

Do I need floor mats straight away?

No. The factory carpeted mats are fine for a few weeks, and waiting lets you decide based on your own conditions rather than a checklist.

Is a roof sunshade worth it on a Juniper?

It is a genuine comfort upgrade in sustained sun and close to pointless if the car is garaged. Live with the glass roof for a month before deciding.

Should I fit a screen protector?

Tesla advises against it and excludes resulting damage from the warranty. If glare is your issue, a matte protector helps; if scratches are, a bezel frame is the better answer.
