If you want one answer: buy the floor liners tooled for the L and nothing else molded. The Model Y L is a six-seat, long-wheelbase Model Y - two front seats, two second-row captain's chairs and a two-seat third row - and its wheelbase, floor plan, cargo bay and roof aperture are all specific to it. That means almost every molded part sold for a five-seat Model Y is the wrong shape, however confidently the listing says Model Y.
This page is deliberately short. It was introduced in China in June 2025, reached Australia and New Zealand in March 2026 and launched in the United States in July 2026, so the accessory market has had very little time to tool for it. We would rather give you five products that were actually cut for this car than pad the list with parts that will arrive and not fit.
What transfers from the five-seat car, and what does not
The rule is simple and it holds almost without exception: if the part is molded to the body, it does not transfer. If it hangs, drapes or clips onto a seat or a window, it usually does.
| Category | Transfers? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Floor liners | No | Longer wheelbase and a third row change the second-row footwell and the cargo floor |
| Roof sunshade | No | The roof aperture is longer, so five-seat panels end before the glass does |
| Cargo and sub-trunk liners | No | The cargo bay is its own shape behind the third row |
| Door sill protectors | No | Sill lengths and the rear door aperture differ |
| Screen protector | Partly | 16-inch center display plus an 8-inch rear screen - buy by screen size, not by car |
| Windshield shade | Yes | The windshield is shared with the five-seat car |
| Seat-back kick protectors | Yes | They hang from the seat rather than fitting the floor |
| Cup-holder inserts and console trays | Usually | Console cavities are shared or close; check the listing |
How we chose
The bar for this page is higher than for the rest of the site, and it is deliberately a fitment bar rather than a quality one:
- The listing names the Model Y L explicitly, or the product is in a category where the L's geometry genuinely does not matter.
- The product is in stock today, checked on the day of writing. This category empties out faster than any other on the site.
- The brand publishes what the part is made of and what it covers, so our description can be attributed rather than inferred.
- We are not substituting. A Juniper part offered as near enough for an L is the exact mistake this page exists to prevent.

1. Buy first
JOWUA all-weather floor liners for Model Y L
The one liner set tooled for this car rather than adapted to it. The L has a longer wheelbase and a third row, so the second-row footwell and the cargo floor are both shapes the five-seat liners do not have. This is the first purchase for a Model Y L and, for now, the only one in this category we would make.
Best for: The six-seat Model Y L, where almost nothing else is listed yet
Fits: Model Y L (2026+, six-seat)
What works
- One of very few parts genuinely tooled for the Model Y L rather than adapted from the five-seat car
- Covers the second-row captain's-chair footwells, which a standard Model Y set does not
What does not
- Third-row coverage is the weak point of every Model Y L set currently on sale, including this one
- Very little independent fit reporting exists yet for this body
Manufacturer specifications
- Listed specifically for the 2026+ six-seat Model Y L
- All-weather liner set covering the longer floor plan
- Sold alongside a Model Y L glass-roof sunshade in the same collection
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

2. Best roof sunshade
JOWUA glass roof sunshade for Model Y L
The L's roof aperture is longer than the five-seat car's, which is exactly why a Juniper shade does not work on it - the panels end before the glass does. This one is listed for the L specifically. If you have been offered a Juniper shade as a near-enough fit, this is the product that answer was trying to substitute for.
Best for: The six-seat Model Y L, whose roof aperture is its own shape
Fits: Model Y L (2026+, six-seat)
What works
- Genuinely tooled for the stretched roof rather than a Juniper shade sold as close enough
- Covers the third-row glass, which is the part a five-seat shade cannot reach
What does not
- Very few alternatives exist, so there is no competitive pressure on price
- No independent fit reports yet — this body only reached the US in July 2026
Manufacturer specifications
- Cut specifically for the longer Model Y L roof
- Mesh fabric, folding storage, same construction as the Juniper shade
- Sold in JOWUA's dedicated Model Y L collection
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

3. Best screen protector
QHD 16-inch tempered glass with rear screen cover
The Model Y L uses the 16-inch 2560 x 1440 center display and an 8-inch rear screen, so a 15.4-inch protector is the wrong part and the rear screen is a second surface most sets ignore. This one is cut for the 16-inch panel and includes the rear cover, which makes it one purchase instead of two.
Best for: 2026 Model Y Premium and Performance, where 15.4-inch parts do not fit
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat)
What works
- One of the few parts that explicitly addresses the 16-inch panel instead of pretending every Juniper is 15.4-inch
- Bundling the rear cover matches the trims that actually have a rear screen
What does not
- A newer, less-established brand than the Tesla specialists
- If you have an RWD or AWD Juniper this is the wrong part entirely
Manufacturer specifications
- Cut for the 16-inch 2560 x 1440 display fitted to Model Y Premium and Performance
- Includes an 8-inch rear screen cover
- 9H tempered glass; sold in single and two-pack listings
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

4. Best windshield shade
JOWUA windshield sunshade
Listed across the Model Y L as well as the five-seat cars, which is the useful thing about it: windshield shades are one of the few categories where the L's extra length behind the B-pillar changes nothing. If you want one heat accessory for this car and the roof shade is out of stock, this is the substitute that is not a compromise.
Best for: Anyone who parks outside — the highest-value shade you can buy
Fits: Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat) · Model Y (2020-2024) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023)
What works
- Solves the actual parked-heat problem — the windshield is the biggest single heat aperture in the car
- Far cheaper than a roof shade and takes fifteen seconds to deploy
- Cut to shape, so there is no gap at the corners where a universal shade leaves one
What does not
- Only works while parked, unlike a roof shade which works while driving
- Has to be stowed somewhere when you drive off
Manufacturer specifications
- Black mesh fabric with a silver anti-light coating
- Manufacturer claims up to 99% UV blocking
- Cut to the specific windshield shape; listed for Juniper and Model Y L
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

5. Best soft-goods pick
Yeslak seat-back kick protector
Listed for the Model Y L alongside the other generations, because a seat-back kick protector hangs from the seat rather than being molded to the floor. With a third row behind captain's chairs, the back of the second row takes more contact in this car than in a five-seat Model Y, which makes this an unusually sensible early purchase here.
Best for: One part that covers every Model 3 and Model Y generation
Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model Y L (2026+, six-seat) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)
What works
- The broadest fitment claim in this group, which simplifies buying for a two-car household
- Waterproof surface means spilled drinks wipe off rather than soak in
What does not
- A part that fits everything fits nothing perfectly — expect a slightly generic outline
- Pocket is shallow compared with the BASENOR equivalent
Manufacturer specifications
- Waterproof, stain-resistant microfibre leather surface
- Integrated storage pocket
- Listed as fitting Model 3 and Model Y from 2017 through 2026 and later
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

Why the molded-part market is still thin
Tooling follows volume. A molded liner or a sill plate requires a mold cut for one body shape, and a manufacturer commits to that spend when the number of cars on the road justifies it. This car reached the US market in July 2026. The pattern across previous Tesla generations is that the first year is sparse, the second fills out, and the honest thing to say now is that the cargo and sill categories for this car are not there yet.
Which means the useful advice is partly about timing. Buy the liners and the roof shade now, because those are the two surfaces that degrade while you wait. Hold off on cargo liners, sill plates and anything shaped to the third row until parts exist that name this car - and be suspicious of any new listing that claims to fit both the five-seat Model Y and the L, because those are different moldings.
What to buy in what order
Liners first, because the second-row footwell in a six-seat car with children in the third row takes traffic that a five-seat Model Y never sees. Roof shade second, for the same reason in reverse - the third row sits furthest from the vents and closest to the glass. Then the screen protector, matched to the 16-inch panel rather than to the model name. Then the soft goods.
If you are coming to this car from a five-seat Model Y and you already own accessories for it, assume the soft goods come with you and the molded parts do not. The 2026 Model Y buying guide covers the five-seat trims, including the two differences on the Standard that catch people out.
Questions people actually ask
Do five-seat Model Y accessories fit the Model Y L?
Soft goods usually do; molded parts usually do not. The L has a longer wheelbase, its own floor plan, its own cargo bay and a longer roof aperture, so liners, cargo trays, sill plates and roof shades all need to be cut for it specifically.
What screen does the Model Y L have?
A 16-inch 2560 x 1440 center display and an 8-inch rear screen. A 15.4-inch protector is the wrong part for it, and a front-only set leaves the rear screen bare.
Why are there so few Model Y L accessories?
Because molds follow volume. The car reached the US market in July 2026, so most manufacturers have not committed to tooling for its body yet. Expect the cargo and sill categories to fill out through 2027.
Will a Juniper roof sunshade work on a Model Y L?
No. The L's roof aperture is longer, so Juniper panels cover the front section and stop - leaving the glass over the third row uncovered, which is usually the exact area you were trying to shade.
What should a new Model Y L owner buy first?
Floor liners tooled for the L, then the L-specific roof sunshade. Those two cover the surfaces that get worse while you wait for the rest of the category to exist.
