The useful thing about a small budget here is that it pushes you toward the accessories with the least fitment risk. The expensive Tesla accessories — liners, roof shades, screen protectors — are all generation-specific. The cheap ones mostly are not, which makes them far better gifts.

Why cheap works better as a gift

A cup-holder insert costs a fraction of a floor liner and gets used more often. The owner interacts with the console on every drive and with the cargo floor once a week. The accessories that are noticed daily are almost all at the bottom of the price range, which is a genuinely useful thing to know when you are buying for someone else.

The other advantage: nothing on this page needs tools, adhesive or any modification, so none of it is a problem on a leased car and all of it can be taken out without trace.

1. Best overall

BASENOR cup-holder insert

BASENOR

The cheapest accessory that gets used on every single drive, and it fits across generations so you barely need to know their car. It reduces the maximum cup diameter the well accepts.

Best for: Stopping cups from rattling and tipping

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Overall8.8/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Tesla's cup wells are wide, and a narrow cup rattles in them constantly — this is the direct fix
  • Cheapest single accessory on this site that you will notice every day

What does not

  • Reduces the maximum cup diameter the well can take
  • Needs lifting out to clean properly after a spill

Manufacturer specifications

  • Insert mat shaped to the console cup-holder wells
  • Soft compound chosen to damp movement
  • Supplied as part of the four-piece set and separately

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

2. Best small fix

BASENOR under-screen console organizer tray

BASENOR

Non-slip, no adhesive, and it stops the shelf below the display being a slide. Listed across both cars and most generations. A friction fit can shift under a heavy load.

Best for: The dead space under the touchscreen

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Overall8.7/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Turns a shelf that items slide straight off into a usable tray
  • No adhesive means no residue when you sell the car

What does not

  • A friction fit can shift if you load it heavily and corner hard
  • Single-purpose — it does nothing for the armrest bin or cup holders

Manufacturer specifications

  • Non-slip base, no adhesive required
  • Shaped to the shelf beneath the center display
  • Listed across Model Y and Model 3 fitments

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

3. Most thoughtful

Under-seat air vent covers

TOPABYTE

Cheap, and anyone who has fished a coin out of an under-seat vent will appreciate it immediately. Fit the open-grille type, never a solid panel.

Best for: Stopping debris falling into the rear footwell vents

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)

Fit8.0
Coverage8.0
Durability7.5

Value9.0
Overall8.4/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • Those vents collect coins, crumbs and small toys, and clearing them is genuinely awkward
  • No adhesive, so nothing is permanent
  • One of the cheapest protective parts on the car

What does not

  • Any cover restricts airflow to some degree — fit the open-grille type, not a solid panel
  • Easy to dislodge when vacuuming

Manufacturer specifications

  • Grille covers for the rear-facing vents beneath the front seats
  • Clip or friction fit with no adhesive
  • Listed across Model 3 and Model Y fitments

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

4. Zero fitment risk

Insulated frunk cooler bag

TAPTES

A soft bag conforms to any frunk, so it cannot be the wrong size. Soft insulation holds cold for an hour or two, not a day.

Best for: Groceries and tailgates, in the frunk rather than the cabin

Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023)

Fit8.0
Capacity8.0
Rigidity6.5
Access9.5
Value8.5
Overall8.1/ 10 — our editorial score, not a lab test

What works

  • The frunk is the one compartment in the car with no cabin-air connection, so it is the right place for cold food
  • A bag conforms to the tub where a rigid cooler fights it
  • Lifts straight out to carry

What does not

  • Insulation in a soft bag is modest — this is an hour or two of cold, not a day
  • Takes most of the frunk, so it is not something you leave in permanently

Manufacturer specifications

  • Insulated foam-lined bag sized to sit inside the frunk tub
  • Used alongside a molded organizer rather than instead of one
  • Zip closure

Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

Two things not to buy at this budget

  • A cheap generic windshield shade. The sized ones leave gaps at the A-pillars, and a gift that works badly is worse than a smaller gift that works. If you want to give a windshield shade, give a cut-to-shape one — see windshield sunshades.
  • A cheap screen protector. Tesla's manual advises against fitting one at all, and a budget protector on a large display is the hardest version of the job to get right. Not a gift.

The one that is not an accessory

A good microfibre cloth, or two. The only control surface in these cars is a large glossy touchscreen that shows every fingerprint, and Tesla publishes its own guidance on cleaning it. It is a boring gift and it gets used more than anything else on this page. Pair it with the cup insert and you have a genuinely good small present for under thirty dollars.

If your budget is higher, best gifts for Tesla owners covers the next tier up and explains which gifts need the exact model year.

Questions people actually ask

What is the best cheap gift for a Tesla owner?

A cup-holder insert. It costs very little, it fits across generations, and it fixes a rattle the owner notices on every drive.

Do I need to know their exact model?

For an insulated frunk bag, no. For a cup insert or vent covers, just Model Y or Model 3. For anything molded to a console or footwell, you need the generation.

Is a cheap screen protector a good gift?

No. Tesla's manual advises against fitting one, and a large display is the hardest place to apply a budget protector well.

Will any of this damage the car or affect a lease?

No. Everything here is drop-in with no adhesive and no tools, and removes without trace.
