A Model 3 frunk is much shallower than a Model Y's. That single fact drives everything on this page. On a Model Y, fitting an organizer costs you almost nothing because there is depth to spare. On a Model 3, every millimeter an organizer occupies is a millimeter you no longer have.
So be honest with yourself about what you actually keep in there. If it is the mobile charging cable and nothing else, you do not need an organizer — you need the cable's own bag. If you keep three or four things and they tangle, a shallow tray or a divider is worth the space it costs.

1. Best overall
TAPTES frunk organizer for Model 3
Shaped to the Model 3 tub, which is notably shallower than the Model Y's — a Model Y organizer simply will not let the hood close. Separate Highland and pre-Highland listings. Shallow trays tip more easily than a deep box.
Best for: Model 3 owners, whose frunk is much shallower than a Model Y's
Fits: Model 3 (2017-2023) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026)
What works
- Model 3-specific depth — a Model Y organizer simply will not close the hood
- Year-scoped listings rather than one Model 3 catch-all
What does not
- The Model 3 frunk is small enough that an organizer gives up real capacity to gain structure
- Shallow trays tip more easily than a deep box
Manufacturer specifications
- Shaped to the Model 3 frunk tub, which is notably shallower than the Model Y's
- Separate Highland and pre-Highland listings
- Molded tray with dividers
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

2. Best use of a small space
Spigen frunk divider
On a shallow tub, a divider is the better instinct than a box: it adds structure without claiming depth you do not have, and the silicone padding keeps it quiet. Less containment — small items still move.
Best for: Owners who want structure without noise
Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026)
What works
- The silicone padding is the reason this is the quiet option — rigid boxes are the ones that rattle
- A divider keeps the frunk's full depth available instead of boxing it in
- Easy to lift out when you need the whole space
What does not
- Less containment than a full organizer — small items still migrate
- Two sections only, so no dedicated slot for small tools
Manufacturer specifications
- Divider rather than a full box, with silicone padding at the contact points
- Designed to split the frunk into two usable halves
- From an established accessory brand
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

3. Best single purchase
Insulated frunk cooler bag
The Model 3 frunk is close to the right size for a small insulated bag, which is arguably the most useful thing to put in it. Soft insulation holds cold for an hour or two, not a day.
Best for: Groceries and tailgates, in the frunk rather than the cabin
Fits: Model Y (2020-2024) · Model Y Juniper (2025-2026) · Model 3 Highland (2024-2026) · Model 3 (2017-2023)
What works
- The frunk is the one compartment in the car with no cabin-air connection, so it is the right place for cold food
- A bag conforms to the tub where a rigid cooler fights it
- Lifts straight out to carry
What does not
- Insulation in a soft bag is modest — this is an hour or two of cold, not a day
- Takes most of the frunk, so it is not something you leave in permanently
Manufacturer specifications
- Insulated foam-lined bag sized to sit inside the frunk tub
- Used alongside a molded organizer rather than instead of one
- Zip closure
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. We have not independently tested this product.

What will not work
- Any Model Y frunk organizer. It will not let the hood close. This is the most common mis-order in this category.
- A deep rigid box. There is not the depth, and what little there is becomes unusable.
- A full-size cooler. A small insulated bag yes; a hard cooler no.
Highland or pre-Highland?
The Highland refresh did not transform the frunk the way it changed the console and the cabin, but brands list the two separately and you should buy to your year. If you are not sure which car you have, the steering column tells you: no indicator stalk means Highland.
The better place to spend the money
On a Model 3, the trunk and especially the deep well under its floor hold far more than the frunk does, and they are just as unstructured. If you are trying to make the car carry things better, start there — see Model 3 trunk organizers.
Questions people actually ask
Will a Model Y frunk organizer fit a Model 3?
No. The Model 3 tub is much shallower and the hood will not close. This is the commonest mistake here.
Is a Model 3 frunk organizer worth it?
Marginally. It costs capacity you may not be able to spare. If you keep several loose items in there it is worth it; if you keep one cable it is not.
Can I use the Model 3 frunk as a cooler?
Yes, with a small insulated bag. It is the one compartment with no cabin-air connection, which makes it the right place for cold food.
Did the Highland change the frunk?
Not dramatically, but brands list the generations separately and you should buy to your year.
